Industrial Production Operation in July of 2022

In July, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 3.8 percent year-on-year (the growth rate of added value below is the actual growth rate after deducting the price factor). From a month on month comparison, in July, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 0.38 percent over the previous month. From January to July, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 3.5 percent year on year.

In terms of three categories, in July, the added value of the mining industry increased by 8.1 percent year-on-year, the manufacturing industry increased by 2.7 percent, and the power, heat, gas and water production and supply industry increased by 9.5 percent.


In terms of economic types, in July, the added value of state-owned holding enterprises increased by 5.4 percent year on year; joint stock enterprises increased by 4.4 percent, and foreign-invested enterprises and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan invested enterprises increased by 1.9 percent; and private enterprises grew by 1.5 percent.


From the perspective of industries, in July, the added value of 25 of the 41 major industries kept year-on-year growth. Among them, the coal mining and washing industry increased by 11.0 percent, the oil and natural gas mining industry increased by 4.5 percent, the agricultural and sideline food processing industry decreased by 0.8 percent, the alcohol, beverage and refined tea manufacturing industry increased by 10.8 percent, the textile industry decreased by 4.8 percent, the chemical raw materials and chemical products manufacturing industry increased by 4.7 percent, the non-metallic mineral products industry decreased by 3.8 percent, the ferrous metal smelting and processing industry decreased by 4.3 percent, and the non-ferrous metal smelting and processing industry increased by 2.3 percent, the general equipment manufacturing industry decreased by 0.4 percent, the special equipment manufacturing industry increased by 4.0 percent, the automobile manufacturing industry increased by 22.5 percent, the railway, ship, aerospace and other transportation equipment manufacturing industry increased by 7.6 percent, the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry increased by 12.5 percent, the computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industry increased by 7.3 percent, and the power, thermal production and supply industry increased by 10.4 percent.


In terms of products, in July, the output of 260 of 617 products increased year-on-year. 106.24 million tons of steel, a year-on-year decrease of 5.2 percent; 192.18 million tons of cement, down 7.0 percent; there were 5.63 million tons of ten non-ferrous metals, an increase of 4.8 percent; ethylene was 2.24 million tons, down 9.1 percent; there were 2.445 million vehicles, an increase of 31.5 percent, including 619,000 new energy vehicles, an increase of 112.7 percent; the power generation was 805.9 billion kwh, an increase of 4.5 percent; the crude oil processing capacity was 53.21 million tons, down 8.8 percent.


In July, the product sales rate of industrial enterprises was 97.2 percent, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5 percentage point; industrial enterprises realized an export delivery value of 1,286.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year nominal increase of 9.8 percent.
